Abstract

This research was developed by the Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja with the collaboration of the Ministry of Public Health of Ecuador, which responds to the latest advances in clinical and health psychology that highlight the importance of attending to the transdiagnostic variables underlying multiple mental health problems, thus overcoming the limitations of classical approaches based on diagnostic categories. The objective of this study was to develop a transdiagnostic model of depression. This study was non-experimental, explanatory and cross-sectional. A national (Ecuador) online survey of a representative sample of 16,074 adult participants between the ages of 18 and 72 was carried out, using standardized scales to measure alcohol consumption, psychological stress, psychological inflexibility, loneliness, impulsivity, and depressive symptoms.

Keywords:depression, mental health, transdiagnostic model , Ecuador.
