The objective of this study was to analyze the childcare profile in the Hermano Miguel parish of the city of Cuenca during 2026. A quantitative approach with a descriptive scope and cross-sectional design was employed, evaluating a representative sample of primary caregivers of young children in early childhood. Data collection was carried out using a structured survey that examined caregiving typology, parenting practices, access to social and health services, and caregiver burden. The results indicate a prevalence of unpaid informal care provided predominantly by women; a low enrollment rate in early childhood education centers associated with socioeconomic factors and territorial coverage; limited knowledge within the family environment regarding early stimulation guidelines and socio-emotional development; and a high perception of work and emotional overload among families due to a limited community support network. It is concluded that caregiving dynamics in this sector exhibit gaps in institutional support, highlighting the urgent need to design community-based psychoeducational support programs and strengthen parenting competencies to ensure comprehensive child development.
